Hurricane Irene Miracle

“How the hell did I survive that” is what Hugh Owens, right, was thinking when I found him at Solly & Castor in NE Philly.
Owens, on his way to pick up a friend who needed a ride to work, was waiting for the green light when without warning,
the large tree came crashing down on a parked car and Owen’s new Chevy truck. Amazingly Owens was uninjured.

Glad he got out alive! We had a fatal collision not too far from that corner on Algon Street. I heard one person died. That storm wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but it wreaked enough havoc for my lifetime!!
